Karigurashi no Arrietty enchants with its lovingly crafted miniature world, lush Ghibli visuals, and a Celtic-tinged score that turns an ordinary backyard into an expansive realm of wonder. While the villain and central conflict feel undercooked and the pace occasionally drags, the film’s sheer attention to detail and endearing characters more than compensate. Easily recommended as a gentle, immersive family entry. The standout moment remains the first time the camera drops to Arrietty’s height and a simple vine becomes a sky-scraping leafy ladder.
