Review of The Secret World of Arrietty

I finally watched this movie after having owned it for years. I had no idea what to expect. The opening music is delightful and the artwork is impressive. From the start the story takes on a very intimate feel. The setting is very cozy without much noise to distract you. That is because the focus of the story is on a much smaller world. The story is simple with only a few central characters. The story is also quite slow and takes time to develop. This does not leave much time to show you much of the Borrower's world.I feel that's the biggest weakness of this movie. I felt it was just beginning right as it was ending. Almost like you are slowly driving by and catch but a glimpse into this beautiful world.

Like I said though, this movie was charming. It's a pleasant distraction for a rainy day. I just wish there was more.
