AnoNatsu shines through Nagai’s masterful directing, a beautiful aesthetic, and the standout performances of supporting characters like Kanna and Remon. However, the show suffers from lackluster leads, a pointless beach episode, and a rushed, compressed ending that undermines the narrative. Despite these flaws, it remains an imperfect yet charming tribute to classic romance that is well worth watching. The most significant highlight is the brilliant directing and editing, particularly the emotionally resonant train station sequence in episode three.
