The emotional character dynamics remain strong and enjoyable, just enough to earn a 7/10 out of love for Haikyuu. However, the adaptation skips too much content, reduces the match to only two full rallies, and drains all tension and urgency, making it feel like “an anime sprinkled with volleyball” rather than a true volleyball story. Ultimately disappointed after the long wait. The standout saving grace is the heartfelt interplay among the characters that still manages to resonate.
