Review of Haikyu!! Movie: The Dumpster Battle

I think this is a worthy first part for the ending of Haikyuu. I have heard many complains about the pacing but in my opinion, it's quite the opposite. I think the pacing was perfect. Exactly how fast paced sport animes should. It still had flashbacks, who were most of the time recaps we already knew but the pacing itself was fantastic. Story (7): The story is pretty cool. Exactly what to expect.And I really liked the introduction in the beginning.
But I just think they overdid it with some of the flashbacks, especially them all concluding with the same message.

Characters (7):

I liked the characters as well as I did in the Haikyuu Show.
They are a bit tacky maybe a bit on the nose and simple at times but all around well written.
What really annoyed me here was that each and every character had to go through his entire motivations at the start of the movie.
They tried to be subtle about it but it just felt like useless information to everyone who watched the show first.
(And why wouldn't you?)

Art/Sound (9):

The art is just amazing.
The animations are amazing, I love that they kept the style of the show but elevated it several notches.
The camera angles are as interesting as ever.
But the sound design cemented this experience, it was something I didn't think this movie would be that good at.

Enjoyment (9):

I was hyped and hooked from the very beginning.
Just the repetition of things we already knew tampered my excitement a little.

Overall: 8.0
