The soundtrack delivers a fitting Iron-Age grandeur and the opening themes are decent, but every other piece of Arslan Senki collapses: the heroes are invincible HAX machines, the plot jerks from grounded warfare to random magic, outcomes are never in doubt, and the art is an eyesore of derp faces and PS1-quality CGI. Overall, a crushing disappointment from creators capable of far better. The most telling flaw is the laughably pre-decided battles that drain all tension and make the whole campaign feel like a Care-Bear crusade.
