Synopsis

Chic novelist Yamagata inspires suicidal neighbor Satake to embrace life during classic-car road trip to Yamanashi.

Kaneichiro Yamagata (45) is a novelist with a wife and children. He always aims for a "chic" way of life and is devoted to sake, gourmet food, and hobbies. The cheap apartment where Yamagata works is filled with eccentric residents. Together with one of them, Naoji Satake, he rode a classic car (Triumph TR3A, made in England) and headed for Yamanashi. Satake had been thinking about committing suicide due to the failure of his business, but as he listened to Yamagata's way of life along the way, he began to think again about living.
