The only thing holding back Stampede is it's pacing. 98 took it's time, making Vash silly and following him on side quests before showing how broken he was during the final fight. Stampede doubles down on the emotional story beats but leaves us without proper time to truly understand Vash. Trigun is a messy story with several canon tellings and Stampede continues on this tradition of changes. Some changes build out the world while others reimagine dynamics. As a Trigun fan, it's just cool to see Vash in a new way. CGI looks beautiful and feels like an appropriate medium for this sci-fi post apocalyptic tale.
