Synopsis

Space colonies vs Earth in 2099; Jin Saotome's fate tied to secret military accident and ultimate weapon development.

At the end of the 21st century, humanity has expanded into space, with half of the Earth's population relocating to space colonies, each forming their own cultural sphere. Eventually, the Space Colony Alliance was established, and its national power continued to grow, using its military might to check the nations of Earth. It also began to use coercive economic manipulation, creating an irreconcilable tension between the Alliance and Earth. Meanwhile, the Allied Forces have begun developing a gigantic "ultimate weapon" using new technology in order to take control of the Earth. Behind the story of this film lies the conflict between the Allied Forces (military forces) and the resistance movement on Earth that opposes them. In a certain month in the year 2098, a mobile weapons platoon undergoes an accident during training in the Allied sphere of influence, resulting in the destruction of the platoon. Since it was a small-scale incident, it is handled as a secret matter within the upper echelons. The fates of the main characters intertwine, centering on Jin Saotome, who lost his father in the accident. As of the year 2099, there are 20 colonies around Earth, each with 6-9 sub-satellites. The first three were built, Satellites 1-3, and 17 were built later, Satellites 4-20, under the "30-year Colony Construction Plan." Satellite 7 suffered devastating damage during an armed conflict between colony companies in 2074, and is now abandoned in ruins. (Source: Wikipedia)
