Shadow the Hedgehog, an enigmatic artificial lifeform created as part of a secret scientific project, finds himself questioning his purpose and identity. When a military operation targets the Space Colony ARK where he was developed, Shadow's world is thrown into chaos as he faces forces that seek to eliminate all traces of the project. In the aftermath of these events, Shadow awakens in White Space, a mysterious dimension beyond normal reality.
