After the company he established went bankrupt and he was left with nothing but the clothes on his back, Kazumi Iwakura comes to a small shrine at the far end of Tokyo to become its caretaker. However, upon arriving, he finds three cats who have called the shrine their home; a big, ugly ginger tabby and two furball-like gray kittens, one a gray-she and the other a gray-he. As it turns out, they are bakeneko (cats that turned into youkai) and can change into human forms; the tabby into a handsome man with a death glare, and the two kittens into twins about three years of age...
