Synopsis
Film student Daisuke faces harsh criticism, learns from rival Kado, and commits fully to filmmaking.
Daisuke Kagami has sported a passion for movies ever since he can remember. Driven by this ambition and a film festival award he won in high school, Daisuke feels spurred to enroll in a film program as an aspiring director. Surprisingly, he gets shut down immediately and receives disheartening feedback on an assignment he thought he would breeze through. Meanwhile, Kado Osawa, a fellow freshman and equally an award winner in high school, delivers a shocking project unexpectedly well-received by their professors. Already disillusioned by this strange turn of events, Daisuke falls into torment after Kado bluntly criticizes his work. As Daisuke grapples with the difference between his and Kado's creations, he realizes a high disparity in the level of effort the two of them put into their respective projects. Understanding why Kado had been able to move his audience, Daisuke resolves to throw everything he has into his own filmmaking.
