Leave the Sacrifice at the Gate
いけにえもんぜんばらい
Synopsis
Uzumaki Nanao, groomed as a sacrifice to a god, meets disinterested snake deity Daija and discovers an alternative way to fulfill the ancient covenant.
For thousands of years, the Uzumaki family has had a covenant with a god of fertility: in exchange for sacrificing the young head of the family every 111 years, the Uzumaki line will continue and prosper. To this end, Nanao Uzumaki has spent his entire life being groomed to be the perfect sacrifice, cultivating a perfect and pure body that should satisfy the palate of any god. However, when Nanao arrives at the shrine, Daija, the god that appears before him, could not be more disinterested in eating him, much to Nanao's dismay. While he tries to entice Daija into eating him and fulfilling the covenant, Daija tries to convince him to give up and keep on living. As Nanao struggles to live a life he always thought would end prematurely, he discovers that there is another way to sate the snake god's hunger.
