Synopsis

Bookstore owner Tsutaya discovers eccentric artist Utamaro, forming a passionate partnership that revolutionizes Edo's culture.

Shigezaburo Tsutaya, who runs a bookstore in Yoshiwara, is introduced by an acquaintance to Toyoaki Kitagawa, an artist who will later become Utamaro Kitagawa. However, it was an "eccentric person" who stole Shigetaburo's geta at the bathhouse. A rare publisher, Tsutashige, and an artist, Utamaro, who was discovered by him. The two men become passionate partners and share a new culture in Edo.
