Synopsis
Unlucky Riiko gets a perfect android boyfriend on trial, then must pay or lose him—and her growing love.
High-schooler Riiko Izawa has never had any luck with love—every confession she’s ever made has ended in an immediate “no.” After her latest heartbreak, she wanders into a park and finds a lost phone. When she returns it, the eccentric owner, Gaku Namikiri, insists on giving her a “thank-you gift.” Half-joking, Riiko blurts out that what she really wants is a boyfriend. Gaku directs her to a mysterious website offering “lover figures.” Expecting nothing more than a novelty doll, Riiko is captivated by the face of the “Nightly Series 01” model and signs up for a three-day free trial. The next morning, a life-sized, startlingly lifelike boy is delivered to her doorstep. One kiss activates him, and for the next three days, Night Tenjou turns out to be the attentive, perfect companion Riiko has always dreamed of. But when Gaku reappears with news that the trial can’t be canceled, Riiko faces an impossible bill—or an unusual alternative. Torn between mounting debt and the feelings she’s begun to develop for the android who seems almost human, Riiko must decide what she’s willing to risk for a love that might not be real.
