Synopsis
2148: Tatsumiya Island rebuilds after war; mysterious submarine arrival threatens fragile peace anew.
The year is 2148. Two years after the events of the original Fafner in the Azure, Tatsumiya Island continues to rebuild and its residents struggle to find normalcy in a world forever changed. Kazuki, bearing the physical and emotional scars of past battles, holds onto hope for a better future despite his declining condition. When an unmanned submarine mysteriously appears in Tatsumiya Bay carrying an enigmatic visitor named Misao Kurusu, the fragile peace is once again threatened. This new arrival brings with them cryptic messages and unknown origins, setting into motion a new chapter in humanity's ongoing struggle for survival. As tensions rise between opposing forces, the Fafner pilots must face unprecedented challenges that will test not only their combat abilities, but their understanding of what it truly means to protect those they love.
