- Both from the same author, Aka Akasaka. - Both series has a focus on lies and your real self, and what it takes to be your ideal self - Both have that signature comedic flare with expressive reactions and emotions. "F*** that. I've got a perfect mask, too. But I strive to make that ideal me true." - Miyuki Shirogane (ch 108) "I told pretty lies that would please everyone... always hoping that one day those lies would become the truth." - Ai Hoshino (ep 1)

Both animes are by the same author (Akasaka Aka), they have very comical elements and scenes that make you swoon with laughter, but contrasted with a dramatic plot. Kaguya-sama has more comedy than drama and Oshi no Ko has more drama than comedy. Both anime deal with themes such as faked appearances in a very profound way.

Both series have an extremely similar style of humor, and the writing in general is almost identical in both. They were both made by the same mangaka, so it makes sense. The plots of these anime are vastly different, and Oshi no Ko focuses a little more on the drama aspect, while Kaguya-sama is centered more on the comedy, but these anime both share the same core DNA.
