These two series are slice-of-life series that take place in a fantasy setting with little to no modern technology, following the lives of an immortal or near-immortal as they effectively raise a youth from a young age (one an infant and one a young child) while following the journeys of these individuals as they travel. Both utilize soft color palettes and a style that leans towards the realistic, but are filled with the feels.
Maquia like Frieren tells the story of nearly immortal beings in the world of humans and their relationships and bonds to humans, these are elves in Frieren and Iorph in Maquia. -Frieren has been around for nearly a century and is incredibly powerful and had a lot of influence on the world through the party of heroes, generally stacking up on magical knowledge and skills over the centuries. -Both are creature that lived longer than human. -Got melancholic vibe to it and share the same nostalgic feeling of passage of time. -The character have regret in their lives
Both are fantasy adventures that explore love, loss, and the passage of time. The protagonists are immortal, which means they've had to watch the people they love grow old and fade away. There's a nostalgic vibe that brings up memories of cherished moments and makes you reflect on how precious time really is.
Both shows have an MC with a very long lifespan taking in and raising a human and watching them grow.
This Movie has the same vibes like Frieren, The OST is Great, has gorgeous animation and background, and focus on the drama and adventure genre than the action gere
Frieren is a nostalgic and bittersweet journey of a long lived elf re tracing her journey. MAQUIA when the promised flowers bloomed also shows the journey of a long lived girl, taking care of her supposedly adopted son and loving him despite knowing that she will outlive him.
