EL and CC have a few themes in common, such as: supernatural human-like creatures, insane characters, romantic subplots, comic relief, action and plenty of dramatic/tragic scenes; moreover, both involve horns and a sad brother-sister story, although Elfen Lied is much more explicit, touching and disturbing.
