Weird Humour, great animation, similar dialogue/writing

Both are stories sharing absurd comedy action and setting with paranormal beings. They also share a certain storytelling perspectives, but also great visuals and sound design. Both stories share the perspective of kids in a paranormal setting but also a journey filled with weird alien shenanigans. Although I wouldn't say they share a similar feeling throughout them, they certainly feel like a same story but made within a big a time difference.

their energy is so alike its actually scary, it has a similar sudden burst of otherworldly energy in a seemingly regular world. The entire time I was watching dandadan my only thought is this is so flcl!!!!! like idek how to explain it ull get me so hard if u watched both. their exploration of i suppose coming of age and self-exploration is heavily shared in a mirrored chaotic and fun world that you yourself could never possibly imagine or predict! they are both such great shows and compliment each other finely <3
