Both focus on crazy OP psychics. Both have great senses of humour, don't take themselves too seriously, although they have running narratives the comedy of each series is always the main focus. Both have great and hilarious character designs.
Protagonist is an overpowered psychic, but the comedy stems from those powers frequently being inconvinient, especially as more weirdos gather around the MC who just wants to live a normal life.
Both shows have MC with psychic power and have a lot of gag comedy elements. Though Saiki kusuo is more focused in comedic aspects but Mob Psycho has a bit of serious tone.
Both main characters have overpowered psychic abilities.
Both main characters are OP Psychics trying to live normal lives.
Both anime have a main character who is a psychic and both are super funny
- Both mc are psychics - Both mc are OP but doesn't want to use their powers
Do you like psychics??!! Do you want to have a good time with a crazy and most of the times non-sense plot?? Unique characters that can't be possibly be taken seriously? Well, those shows are made for you. Two unique characters with crazy overpowered psychic abilities trying to live a normal life that will bring awkward and sometimes hilarious situation.
I'm sure this connection has been made countless times but it's for completely valid reasoning. Both share a very similar concept: MC is a school kid with overpowered psychic abilities. There is a heavy focus of comedy in both series. Despite their very similar concepts, the execution is completely different for both series, with Mob Psycho 100 opting to have a few serious parts, whereas Saiki K. is primarily humour. The animation in Mob Psycho 100 is simply breathtaking. By comparison, Saiki K. is rather lacking in those departments, though that doesn't tarnish the experience whatsoever. TL;DR if you liked either series, you will more than likely enjoy the
Mob Psycho 100 and Saiki Kusuo Psi-Nan have similar protagonists. Mob and Saiki have psychic powers and both are in school. However, as Mob uses his powers to fight villains, Saiki uses his powers to do daily chores and problems. Although both have comedy, Mob Psycho 100 have more action sequences while Saiki has more comedy.
Psychic MCs with great power but Saiki Kusuo is like the upgraded version of Mob with more powers and less depression
Saiki Kusuo is like the comical version of Mob Psycho 100, they both have an overpowered esper who doesn't talk often and is always in a lot of strange and random situations.
Both have psychic abilities, both wanted to live a normal life and wanted their butts to stay out of trouble.
- in both shows MC is an overpowered esper but he just wants to live a normal life
If you like the comedy in Mob Psycho 100, you will probably find The Disastrous Life of Saiki K funny as well. Both shows follow a similar plot of the protagonist holding psychic powers and experiencing the ups and downs with having those unlimited abilities. Just like Mob Psycho 100, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K has emotional, heart-warming moments. The main difference between the two shows is that The Disastrous Life of Saiki K seems more quick-paced, but that is not a bad thing.
If you like one, you'll definitely like the other. Both are comedies about a terribly over powered psychic doing his best to deal with high school life. Both try to limit the use of their powers, albeit not for the same reason. Heck, they even began airing with less than a month's difference (as well as the mangas). Saiki is an introverted and sarcastic teen who thinks his powers, although useful, have very annoying drawbacks that stop him from either enjoying or suffering life. He just wants to live undisturbed, as normally and unnoticed as possible. Sadly, there are some very wacky and bothersome characters in
both have psychic protagonist that show little emotion both slice of life both great
Both shows are comedies with overpowered psychic characters surrounded by mostly incompetent people. Saiki K's short burst episodes are quirky and fun while Mob Psycho has more of a continuous story. I found both shows hilarious but Mob Psycho to have more unexpected situations. Comedic anime fans will love both shows.
So can two things be any more similar than this, well as far as we're talking about the main leads I can bet you it can't. Saiki in The disastrous life of Saiki-K and Shigeo in Mob psycho 100, they both have psychic powers, which obviously they aren't very fond of. But this will lead them on a journey to be acquainted with many and many different individuals, which will open a path for them to break out of their shell and to lead a normal, usual way of living which they certainly dreamt of at some point of time. So yeah looking for a character
- same type of comedy that's just sooo hilarious (like puns, stupid jokes and breaking the 4th wall) - both have psychic characters - both have precious characters that'll really grow on u
both series follow a seriously overpowered character who is in highschool. They are both psychic and spend a fair amount of their on screen time around highschool. Both are absolutely hilarious all be it in different ways as mob focuses more on exorcism with a bit of drama (plot0 and psy is purely on comedy.
School anime where the main character has psychic powers. The main character is a boy in both and they go about their daily lives while hiding their powers from non-powered students. Saiki k is more focussed on comedy while Mob Psycho is more action.
both have an overpower and funny protagonist
A high school student has insane powers that he keeps hidden from the world. More and more people discover it, and the main characters discover that there are more people with different powers than they thought. Ghosts are also really prevelent in these series.
Strong psychics that underappreciate their powers just because they were born with them, but Saiki is a comedy while Mob is more of a drama.
They are both animes featuring the mc gifted with psychic powers. Both mc are overpowered but unpopular. Saiki k and Mob Psycho are both really funny shows which can easily make you laugh. The biggest difference is that I'd say Mob Psycho is mainly action while Saiki K is a comedy show.
Recommending Saiki K. for fans of Mob Psycho 100 feels a little redundant at this point; after all, I'm the 50th person to do so. But you can't go wrong with fifty recommendations - these shows are remarkably similar, with the only real difference being the style of humor. MP100 is more plot-oriented, while Saiki K. is gag-based shorts. Still, they're pretty much the same show, and if you like one, I can't imagine why you wouldn't like the other.
Both protagonists have extraordinary psychic powers but just want to be normal teenagers. There is less comedy in Mob Psycho but it is worth the watch.
autistic coded mc with psychic powers in a school setting, silly comedy, slice of life
A boy with psychic power who want to live normally. Both animes are very funny and share the same type of humor
Whenever I have anyone show interest in Mob Psycho, I always recommend The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. The concept itself of a young male lead with some form of enahnced power is alike for both series. While Mob Psycho generally focuses on its underlying plot point, it does also depict day-to-day experiences of its significant characters. As with Saiki K, each episode displays a slice of life aspect to the viewers involving various adversities and conflicts between the characters. While the goals of each main character differ from the other, the challenges they face are similar as they both struggle with forms of social
both protagonists need to hide their powers from the rest of the world and meet other psychics too
super powerful psychics and their chaotic lives...
Psychics and over the top humor!
