Hello there . I just finished this wonderful light novel and I wanted to tell you my opinion on it . This will be a short review and will be split into two small parts : *Very important to know before reading this review or reading this light novel : Both I and Mal regard this volume as a prequel ... which is absolutely correct since we are seeing past events from Glenn's story , BUT .... there is a huge but here . Volume 0 which you are currently reading this review about, released in March 25 2020 (JP release) whichmeans it released immediately after volume 7(which released in November 22, 2019) and after personally reading the 7 volumes before reading volume 0, I now understand the exact reason (which I won't say here to not ruin your fun)why the author wants us to read it after volume 7 and not before volume 1 as some may think. Please don't make the mistake , reading this volume before volume 7 and I promise it is worth the wait.

The first part is what I liked : As you can also read from the synopsis in this light novel we get to see before he became a doctor and how much he struggled to pursue his dream . I won't tell you specifics to avoid spoilers but generally the pattern of the story is same with the other volumes of this light novel series but in this volume you see how uncertain he is due to the fact that he is still a young student. The characters we see in this volume are very interesting and well designed .

The second part is what I disliked or I think the author could have done differently : When I finished I felt like the author could have added more characters or increased the scenes between the main characters of this light novel but after started think more about this volume was most likely aimed for sole reason of allowing the reader of the series get glimpse of Glenn's past and meeting, learning about some new characters(that will most likely appear in the future) without distracting the readers too much from the main story . This is a prequel after all . And I am sugar coating it because the story doesn't feel rushed , it only lefts you wanting for more because this will most likely what we are gonna read about Glenn's school past.
