Reincarnation of the Veteran Soldier · review
The manwha frankly doesn't have a whole lot to do with its title and the first 1-2 dozen chapters might feel like they have rough (or unique) artstyle with no particular direction for the plot. However the humor is great and the art both improves and you get more used to it the further you progress in the manwha. Theres a good balance between male and female characters without any harem (for those who care) and although there are stereotypical character tropes (e.g muscular manly female), the point is that there aren't just 8 incredibly beautiful same-ish people with 8 different hair colors/styles. Importantcharacter feel unique and you get a good sense of their personalities and beliefs which aren't necessarily tied to their looks or allegiances.
It doesn't take long for the first seemingly random/whimsical story where anything could happen to develop into a more (but not super) serious tone with a stronger sense of direction. It still keeps the great humor even baked in with some serious scenes which makes it really enjoyable.
Strongly recommend, I probably unjustly rate it 9 instead of 8 because I think most people would enjoy the constant action more than I do, but the fighting scenes are absolutely fantastic. It's hard to say if someone who doesn't enjoy the first 1-2 dozen chapters would enjoy the rest of the piece since I still found it enjoyable but it definitely gets better the longer it goes on and the more characters that are introduced.
