6.8/10 I keep coming back to this manga despite dropping it a numerous of times, making more progress each time, however, there’s just a massive flaw within the story that keeps making me disinterested: The story is so tropey and bland. You can’t expect much from the plot of these kind of stories, and this is no exception. There’s this huge overlying theme of the psychologically broken mc, and it’s slowly but surely going to get fixed and warmed by the fmc, however, that’s all there is; to be exact, the whole “psychologically broken mc that gets fixed by characters” trope isn’t a bad concept, however,it’s rarely done right due to the introduction of plot being amiss — likewise, there’s random developments and a weird pacing to the story that makes the story have a clunky and awkward progression.

The characters are a double edged sword to the story: On one hand of the spectrum, they provide quite the enjoyable comedy with how silly their interactions are, however, this also takes a lot away from the seriousness that the author “secretly” planned out, and the characters become nothing more that — becoming one-dimensional and trapped in their set archetype, which gets boring after a while. The side characters also only serve to provide humor to the story and have no logic behind most of their actions, which is quite sad.

I wasn’t going to speak on this, but the world building of this manga kinda sucks. By kinda, I mean it really sucks. There are some flashbacks here and there to get further characters connection and exposition, but it’s done in such a forced way that it becomes uninteresting. The villainous characters are also so focused and like noted before, they act so stupidly for the sake of plot and comedy.

Though the comedy is the major saving grace of this manga, it’s also what holds this manga back from being anything more than a time waster and comedy relief due to the shallowness of the characters and the idiocy of the world immersion.
