La Pomme Prisonnière · review
Sex is not a crime. Nudity is nothing to be ashamed of. You're free to do as you please when you're alone, don't worry about the other people opinions, they won't know anyway... Hita-Hita, also known under a nicer appellation which is La Pomme Prisonnière — a name that will call to mind for some people a French brand of Calvados (apple liquor) —, is a fascinating experience where the reader is able to dive into the daily life of an unusual young woman whose laziness and cheekiness would make her look like one of those feline she's fond of. While following her nonchalant lifestyle and lightlyunorthodox games, we really got the feeling to enter into her intimacy and to understand her simple view of life, even though the chapters are very short and there is not much of them. It personally reminds me my idle days of week end, or holidays, lounging, turning over and over, in my bed (and why not with rain pounding outside). Or something like this, well, I think that's suggestive enough to visualize the story and atmosphere.
It would of course not be so bewitching without this marvelous art. I have a personal crush on his way of representing woman bodies (I'm quite wicked).
