Three words can describe my opinion of this light novel. "Slightly Above Average" The choppy language would take the rating to average or below, but I will chalk that up to poor or rushed translation. The story follows Alus Reigin. A strong Magicmaster who defends humanity from Fiends. Hellish monsters with powerful abilities. After years of service, he demands retirement despite his young age. The request is granted with a few conditions. The retirement is only temporary and he must enroll in a magical institute. For national security purposes, he must hide his high-ranking military status. This is your typical magic academy light novel with a strongmain lead. A genius who has to hide their talent, but given their strength, their power leaks out in intervals. If that is your cup of tea, you might appreciate it. I found some parts entertaining and the art is pleasant. If you are looking for something that would differentiate it from the norm you will have to try another book series. It is can still be a fun brain on half-power read, just not a must-read or a masterpiece.
