Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe Is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party · review

A comedy centered around misunderstandings. I like the LN better than the anime, since the anime's pacing was not great and it jumped around a lot. In a sense it is like Eminence in Shadow, with the MC BSing stuff that turns out to be true, and coincidentally stumbling on conspiracies and secret organizations without even realizing it. However, aside from that the MC is the exact opposite, this guy is weak, weaker than a balloon. He has powerful allies but he himself is pitifully weak, but a ton of impressive accomplishments have been attributed to him so everyone thinks he is a powerhouse. Thefrustrating part of the series is how stupid he is - he literally has no idea what is going on whatsoever, and it feels like he gets dumber every volume, to the point I pity the characters around him. If he used his brain just a tiny bit to at least be aware that the people wearing fox masks are part of the terrorist fox organization they are hunting then this series would be a lot better, but instead he is dumb as dirt. And his childhood friends are insane and don't have much of a moral compass.
