Review of Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man had an insane amount of hype around it. It was impossible to evade its intrusive social media presence from fans of the manga that were hyping up the release. The level of excitement around the series was so intense that those of us who had never even heard of Chainsaw Man ended up giving the series a chance to see what all of the commotion was about. To put it bluntly, the hype was blown way out of proportion. The anime was fine overall. The animation was great, the action scenes were a thrill to watch, and the story was pretty decent. Butall of that hype for this? Either the plot gets far better from here or it feels like everyone has lost their mind over something that isn’t that mind blowing. This review seems more like a review of the community and hype more than the actual anime. That being said, there isn’t much to say about these first 12 episodes. But it does lay the foundation for an epic quest to take down the Gun Devil.
