Review of Redo of Healer
(TLDR at the bottom, as always, thanks for reading) Stop. Stop everything. In my time of watching East Asian cartoons, I have always been meaning to find something that stands out from the rest in more than one way. You have your general anime, your masterpiece anime, and your low-tier anime everyone loves to hate. They all follow this convention in them that they have to be obligatorily relevantly serious about the genres and themes they use. For example, you wouldn't expect something like Clannad After Story to suddenly start showing "press respects to pay the F" even though the themes relate. It just doesn't fit. It wouldbe funny as hell, but it just doesn't fit. You get to a point where everything visibly converges with one another, making no room for "that special something else". I lost hope for anime. I really thought there would be nothing incredibly different anymore. I really did lose hope.
Until I watched Redo of Healer.
Redo of Healer is the result of two based human beings, taking a man's work, putting a middle finger to the norm, and allowing for some of the funniest pieces of entertainment history to have ever been aired.
The story makes zero sense, but why does it have to? A very angry dude wanting revenge grows a harem for god knows why now just seemed like a good idea to someone at the studio. You can tell the writers didn't care and I don't blame them. Despite that, they managed to make every episode better than the last with no effort. Random sex scenes are thrown for the sake of it, Keyaruga pulling 300 IQ plays (physically and mentally), and insane torture methods for the shock this anime needs. There was a reference to a meme at some point in this too, you will see when you get there. Hell, I think the characters spends 48 hours inside an abandoned Chuck E Cheese at one point. Anything can happen here. I guess fantasy was always unreal.
Keyaru. No. Keyaruga-sama. Man, how I love this character. Mix Higurashi craze, Eren Yeager post-timeskip ambition to achieve goals, and Itou Makoto, and you get this Giga being. This man is literally the CEO of 🅱️ased (with a capital 🅱️). This dude is so strong that his coom is literally power-up material, not even a joke. His so-called "Toys" grind his rod as if it were a power-up mushroom, with no question as to why they shouldn't do so, due to broken minds of brainwashing. This legend made princesses, slaves, knights, demons, the whole lot bow down to him like nothing. This dude literally said, quote "Sex", as an answer to what is the best thing he has on his quest, the second being food. There will quite literally never be another character like Keyaruga again. I am sure Flare gun, Satsuma, Blue-Eyes White Knight, and Eevee would agree.
Based TNK, you know the dudes, School Days and HS DxD, how they are still running goes to show that either cancel culture doesn't exist in Japan or they are just some force that makes even Mappa piss themselves. You can obviously expect some moderate animation for this incredible show, no oe thought to give them the money for ufotable type animation, sad, but heh. The audio is the same but I really want to know what the hell the reactions behind the scenes were and how much the Seiyuus got paid for this. Something interesting just keeps coming up for this show, goodness me.
What really gets me most with Redo of Healer is that it gets people to talk. Every masterpiece, influential text in history has done this, Shakespeare has been dead for over 400 years yet people talk about his plays. If you want something closer to home, you have titles like Neon Genesis Evangelion still getting decent viewership and discussion in today's time despite being 20+ years old. Redo of Healer is the same as of now regardless of whether you love this or hate this, this will be one for the history books.
This is literally one of the most enjoyable things I have seen in a long minute. Critics, pseudo-critics, casuals, the others can write reams of lines for reasons why this should be a 1/10, but people in which have a sense of humor, be it Reddit, boomer, generic, and other humor types will find that this is some of great value in this. More people should start laughing.
TLDR: Watch Redo of Healer, there is literally nothing quite like it.

There is something to love, something to hate, something to "wtf" at with Redo of Healer. Not a lot of anime get this many people talking at one time. Such stories are literally once every blue moon. So I would say, take this chance to watch Redo of Healer. Look at how different and unique it is, and bring the many reasons as to why you loved/hated this. This... newly shaped... gem.
Redo of Healer is a modern-day masterpiece. If you won't call this series a masterpiece, then I don't know what is.
