Review of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S
Let's get right into it, shall we? Story: 8/10 Predictable, but the execution of the plot and detailed storytelling tremendously made me excited to see more of how the story will unravel. The anime is more of a sitcom where these bizarre characters go into situations they have no idea what to do and does whatever they can to solve the situation at hand. The sound effects are really great, creates an immersive atmosphere when you go into the world of Dragon Maid, thus the opening and ending are pretty big bangers. Art: 10/10 Even in the face of mainstream anime where they have reached the caliber of pure, fantastic, and gorgeous animation, this anime takes that and brings it to the next level despite having it being a slice of life anime. The character designs look superb and the animation is so well-made that it could fight as the anime of the year. Every second of it, everything is animated beautifully and there will be rare cases you would find still images because even in those moments, the characters look flawless.
Character: 7/10
Again, their personalities, interactions, and dialogues don't exactly make it good to watch, in fact, some just look like they were made to be fanservice and attract more people to watch like Kanna, but the other characters are given the chance to bloom in the midst of the chaotic and modern world. Thanks to good writing, the characters in this anime are serviceable and worth investing through, even when they are doing things atypical of them.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Because I'm a sucker for beautiful animation sequences and addicting music, I had to find this a blast and the best I've watched in this season. There were some good amusing moments in it, knowing that it is a comedy, slice of life anime, I couldn't control myself when I get to see what's more ahead. Still, flaws are still flaws. But I still had a good time.
