Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
I think this tale stands among the works that have changed my life over many decades. The tale is agonisingly bittersweet in a way that I haven't felt since first reading Never Let Me Go at the behest of a friend decades ago. It evolves in what kind of tale it is, from long arcs as the main character takes time to realise where the holes in her heart exist - to increasing tempo as she further appreciates those in her immediacy. Its story of growth and loss is so incredibly beautiful and touching that I will need to go back and re-rate all theother shows I had carelessly allocated a '10/10' on this platform. For it truly - in my eyes - stands alone.
One of the best things, after the fact, was to read the negative reviews. What these people miss cements in my mind what can make this medium great.
I cannot wait for the second season.
