It always seemed to me that humans are doomed to the imminent torture of death, so creating beliefs and fantasies is something natural, but the terror of existence has no end, and deep down illusions cannot combat the anguish of reality. And in the midst of this there is art, which finds no barriers, something that dares to take the most painful and transform it into something beautiful, precisely because it is what it is. Frieren is an anime that lands softly beneath our being and delicately fills gaps, and at the same time it's so strong and intense that it doesn't even make sense. Butthat's what art is, it defies logic and create something beyond.

I don't intend to create a review pointing out the vast qualities that this anime has, I simply want to write a little bit of what it caused to me.

The logic of starting at the end of the journey and having several of these previous moments interspersed with the present is wonderful. And most of the time, this is loaded with such beautiful emotional weight: lessons, moments and the character's desire to not forget her companions.

Learning to appreciate what you have, being distressed by the moments that slip away and still leaning into new experiences that will bring you so much beauty (even though we know that they will soon be taken away), is something that demands so much effort.

This anime points to how vast and impactful simplicity can be. A great achievement is something commendable, but the impacts that small ones have, the way they allow you to enjoy moments and how they stick in your mind, make them as worthy of value as great ones.

What leaves me most speechless is how Frieren deals with the memories of her group. Of course there is development, but after a certain point, these memories are filled with a gentle air that only brings smiles to the character. The anguish of achieving something and losing it can only be alleviated by the value of looking at memories and smiling.

The weight of grief, the inability to overcome her way of feeling and the way she sees the world, Frieren is trapped within herself and there is no magic to sharing such elements, but the bonds she creates and the interests she has, these are responsible for allow this very difficult task.

In fact, it is a masterpiece anime and I believe it is for different audiences, whether to watch it with a more fun or deeper vision, but I believe that people who deal with anguish related to simply living, people who are trapped in themselves or people who deal with grief, they will be impacted in a way that I think is the most beautiful.

And why continue watching anime, why continue living and gathering experiences if they are all destined to be defragmented and lost? I believe that some things mark us in a way that changes us and are also allies in this difficult journey of existence. Regardless of how much time passes, the impact of this type of anime cannot be erased. Regardless of how much time passes, I will look at Sousou no Frieren and a soft smile will take place.

For all this depth, the pleasant tone or simply because it is fun (especially in the game jokes), any of these points is a reason to watch Frieren. I hope this becomes an ally of yours.
