Review of A Whisker Away

A whisker away! The main synopsis basically is about a girl wants her crush to likes her back so she turn into a cat so her crush likes her. Quite a funny one tho. Well, the synopsis and trailer pretty much tells us that the girl will not be able to back to her human form and yea we can predict the whole plot then. Like she will disappear because she stays in her cat form and now everyone is worried about her but somehow she managed to overcome it and back to her human form. Another predictable story eh. Seriously I'm not intended tospoiled it but it's just what i was thinking the moment i saw the trailer.
BUT, this is an enjoyable predictable story. I'm still enjoying the show and in fact i kinda love it!
The conflict is actually not light at all, it's mostly dealing with family issue y'know like broken home and stuff. The problems are heavy enough to make the girl hates her life and prefer her cat form because everyone loves cat right? Including her crush.
The fantasy element in this movie actually remind me of Ghibli's spirited away! The cat-universe is basically like spirit-universe in spirited away and the fact that both main girl got entangled in those universe are adding more similarities between the two movies.
Animation and visual are quite stunning as expected from an animovie.
I don't really know about the soundtrack tho, idk if i was just too focused to the movie or what but the sound isn't that impressive for me as i don't even remember what kind of soundtrack it had. Except for the ending song as I already heard it even before I'm watching the movie.
Character in this movie is.... well some characters is just pure bland. But both the main girl and boy definitely had some development tho especially the girl. And i like the girl's friend a bit because of how supportive she was, tho in the final blow she's pretty much had no screentime :/
Well overall, this is a nice movie, a movie that'll wash off your uncomfortableness and giving you a heartwarming feeling in the end. Despite a predictable story, this movie still enjoyable to watch.
