Review of Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-
Spoilers Love is War became a show I didn't expect it to have when I knew the genres and after the first few episodes, progress. At a glace, Love is War seems to be the classic day-by-day with multiple intersecting stories within one episode but actually explores the characters individually, thoroughly, and gracefully. I would say it's harder to describe the story of Love is War especially how they have so many different smaller stories in each episode. The season's story was much more refined and focused more on the actually moves made by both Shirogane and Shinomiya. The Culture Festival arc was incredible, not only givingscreen-time for Shirogane and Shinomiya's journey towards confession but also explored Ishigami and Tsubame's progress. For a romcom show, Love is War carefully implemented serious plots and interactions after all the other seasons of comedy. 9/10
The art of Love is War is nothing short than appealing. A-1 Pictures continues to give life to these characters with animation beyond what is usual for a romcom. 10/10
The characters of Love is War this season is what gave this season a chance as one of the most greatest romcom animes out there. Not only do the slew of characters cover an incredible amount of personalities, they are intertwined further this season. Personally, I enjoyed the serious approach towards the end of the season between Shirogane and Shinomiya. I'm actually more surprised that they actually kissed at the end, something imaginable especially after knowing their personalities and relationships for a while. 10/10
Enjoyment 10/10.
Overall, Love is War continues to break my expectations as well as normal progress towards romcoms twisting it with seriousness and a complex narrative. I feel like it's harder to get into romcoms as so many of them are repetitive, similar, and formulaic but Love is War decides to go in the different path. Let's just hope that we get to see and ending for the Love is War anime.
