A comedy gag manga that focuses on the two main characters, wannabe mangaka Akiko who works in the same company as the other main character Kenichi, her father. Himawari: Kenichi Legend is mainly a quirky gag manga about the daily lives of a wannabe mangaka and her goofy father. The comedy take centrestage of the plots, and the manga goes overboard with the unique personalities of the various characters.. However, it doesn't feel the funny stuff is too much over top, out of place or awkwardly written.. even though some scenes in the manga are plain silly. it's comedy gold and bringstears to your eyes with laughter.

On the other hand, The romance part of the Manga was secondary focus and was included as fillers to shake up the attention of the readers from getting bored with an otherwise one track comedy manga.. A father-daughter relationship that's fascinating, immersing and enthralling to say the least.
the superficial supporting characters are only there to enhance the uniqueness of the main character.
