Review of Monster

Monster is a sensational anime in almost all (if not all) aspects. It has incredible direction (both visual and sound) that knows how to bring power to the scene, it manages to convey the feeling of the moment in an impactful and dynamic way, adding this to the excellent soundtracks, resulting in a very unique and immersive audiovisual experience so well executed that is. The aesthetics are also an absurdly beautiful thing, MadHouse did a great job with the visual aspect of the anime, bringing several takes, camera angles, a very striking atmosphere and a beautiful look, the production did very well in terms of the anime'sartistic side, bringing a A work that is not only very good for its story, but also for its remarkable and consistent production, it seems crazy to think that they maintained the quality from start to finish, being a work that doesn't have 1 objectively bad episode in terms of production.
The story is also a show in itself, Naoki Urasawa (author of Monster) did very well in the narrative of his story, bringing a cast of fantastic characters in which NONE is objectively bad, all the characters are very good, whether due to development or by charisma or by proposal. All the characters have a good amount of screen time to be developed, some are a little superficial, however, they fulfill their role well.
The way Monster approaches its themes with the use of politics is also impeccable, as it is an anime that takes place after the Cold War, the author uses the social and political factors of the time very well to make the story work, as it is one of the main themes of the work, being responsible for the progression of the plot.
The situations are extremely interesting and captivating, the subplots are also very good and have a great development and outcome.
However, Monster suffers from problems in terms of realism, there are moments in which the characters make very irrational decisions in moments of investigation/deduction, making the story often move in a very forced way, the ending of the anime is also a factor that can bother many, due to the excellent development that the story had until that moment.
In conclusion, it is an excellent anime and is well worth watching, it has its flaws, yes, but the positive points are VERY positive, almost completely highlighting the negative sides of the anime.

Monster é um anime sensacional em quase todos (se não todos) os quesitos.
Tem uma direção incrível (tanto visual quanto sonora) que sabe trazer potencia para a cena, consegue transmitir o sentimento do momento de forma impactante e dinâmica, somando isso com as excelentes trilhas sonoras, resulta em uma experiência audiovisual muito única e imersiva de tão bem executada que é.
A estética também é um negócio absurdo de bonito, a MadHouse caprichou lindo no aspecto visual do anime, trazendo vários takes, ângulos de câmera, uma atmosfera muito marcante e um visual lindíssimo, a produção mandou muito bem no quesito artístico do anime, trazendo uma obra que não é só muito boa pela história, mas também pela produção marcante e consistente, parece até coisa de louco pensar que eles mantiveram a qualidade do inicio ao fim, sendo uma obra que não tem 1 episódio objetivamente ruim no quesito de produção.
A história também é um show a parte, Naoki Urasawa (autor de Monster) mandou muito bem na narrativa de sua história, trazendo um elenco de personagem fantástico em que NENHUM é objetivamente ruim, todos os personagens são muito bons, seja pelo desenvolvimento, seja pelo carisma ou seja pela proposta. Todos os personagens tem um bom tempo de tela para serem desenvolvidos, alguns são meio superficiais, porém, cumprem bem o seu papel. A forma de que Monster aborda seus temas com o uso da política também é impecável, por ser um anime que se passa após a Guerra Fria, o autor utiliza muito bem os fatores sociais e políticos da época para o funcionamento da história, visto que é um dos temas principais da obra, sendo responsável pelo caminhar da trama.
As situações são extremamente interessantes e cativantes, as subtramas são igualmente muito boas e tendo um ótimo desenvolvimento e desfecho.
Porém, Monster sofre problemas na questão do realismo, tem momentos em que os personagens tomam decisões muito irracionais em momentos de investigação/dedução, fazendo a história muitas vezes caminhar de forma bem forçada.
Em conclusão, é um excelente anime e vale muito a pena ser visto, tem seus deslizes, sim, mas os pontos positivos são MUITO positivos, sobressaindo quase que completamente os lados negativos do anime.
