Review of Steins;Gate 0
[YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO WATCH STEINS;GATE BEFORE WATCHING THIS SERIES] *cough* When it comes down to appreciating something, personal taste is what matters the most; hence, I'm not here to critizice people who hated the series and to shatter their opinions. I personally find Steins;Gate 0 a true work of art, and I'm briefly going to explain why. It takes courage to write a sequel (which is actually NOT a sequel, chronologically speaking) to a beloved series with a beautiful ending, therefore, I pictured tons of possible circumstances in which something could've gone wrong. The addition of new characters, the eventual heaviness of the series as a whole (giventhe premise), and the overall possibility that it could've felt somehow cheesy and farfetched.
Most of my doubts were swiped away the moment I started watching Steins;Gate 0 and almost all of them were gone by the end of episode 8.
I want to keep it short and neat:
The renewed roaster feels super fresh, the old characters that you know and love ((and even the ones you hate)) are given space to grow and unlock their full potential.
The voice acting is PHENOMENAL, the music is on point and the story was masterfully crafted.
There's only one thing I wish they'd have put something more into: fighting scenes. It feels like the art and animation sector got left behind. (I'm not saying it is bad, I only feel like they could have animated some of the crucial dynamic scenes a little better).
It's a must watch if you loved Steins;Gate!
I'm defiitely going to buy both Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 Visual Novels to unlock the full, ultimate experience!
