A freezing-cold heart-warming tale about daring adventure, extended grief, remote closure, and ice-melted friendships. This anime about four high-school girls going on an expedition to Antarctica is truly unique in its setting and approach. Gritty yet cutesy, with surprising relational depth, touching on the oft difficult subject of death and repressed mourning. Definitely worth catching for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. We liked almost everything about the series, from the diverse characters and especially the stop-over to a warm & sunny merlion island. The only thing that was frequently hair-raising was the closing song in the middle episodes sung ina haunting style.
