Review of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
The main character Saiki Kusuo is an antisocial introvert who, despite his best efforts to appear as average and unremarkable as possible, inadvertently wins the admiration of a handful of his strange classmates. He uses his psychic powers mainly to get these people to leave him alone, but because of their unpredictable behavior, this often results into comedic chaos. Although Saiki can come off as somewhat rude or uncaring, at times another side of him is shown that secretly appreciates his peers' friendship. Pretty funny and enjoyable anime overall, but it sometimes gets frustrating that the plot advances only very slowly or not at all. Ibinged through the first season hoping for some sort fo plottwist, but every time some sort of conflict seemed to shake the story up a bit, it was resolved within the same 5 minute episode or in the next. I guess that's why they call it a 'gag anime' though. I think I'll continue watching the second season, but I've found it's the sort of series that you should consume in smaller doses as opposed to binging it in under a week.
