Review of Devilman: Crybaby

English Version: Devilman is a unique work, created with the intention of being another shounen manga to amuse young people, has as its outcome one of the best stories ever created in a fantasy universe, which even written in 1972 remains current and frightening. Crybaby adapts the work to the present times, bringing all the problems that were already in evidence at that time to an even more impactful perspective by involving social networks, digital influence and promiscuity. Masaaki Yuasa, who was already known in the industry for his peculiar animation style, had complete freedom to use his creativity here, which fortunately combines a lot with the work,since in addition to the creatures being strange, the world of humans itself is unbalanced. The debate about prejudice and intolerance has never been so well presented before, showing the more animalistic side of the human being, the work creates a fantastic narrative, where anyone, regardless of their reality, can identify themselves in some respect.

Even when we already know the direction that history will take, the text still manages to subvert things, whether in the main narrative or in the secondary, it is impossible not to watch it and not feel a sorrow in the heart for everything shown to us on screen.

In short, a great study of characters, world and society today, mandatory for anyone!

Devilman é uma obra única, criada com a pretensão de ser mais um mangá shounen para divertir jovens, tem como desfecho uma das melhores histórias já criadas em um universo de fantasia, que mesmo escrita em 1972 continua atual e assustadora.

Crybaby adapta a obra para os tempos atuais, trazendo todos os problemas que já estavam em evidência naquela época para uma ótica ainda mais impactante ao envolver redes sociais, influência digital e a promiscuidade.

Masaaki Yuasa que já era conhecido na indústria pelo seu estilo de animação peculiar, teve liberdade total para usar de sua criatividade aqui, o que felizmente combina muito com a obra, já que além das criaturas serem estranhas, o próprio mundo dos humanos está desequilibrado. O debate a respeito de preconceito e intolerância nunca foi tão bem apresentado antes, mostrando o lado mais animalesco do ser humano, a obra cria uma narrativa fantástica, onde qualquer um, independente de sua realidade, pode se identificar em algum aspecto.

Mesmo quando já sabemos o rumo que a história irá tomar, o texto ainda consegue subverter as coisas, seja na narrativa principal ou nas secundárias, é impossível não assisti-lo e não sentir um pesar no coração por tudo que nos é mostrado em tela.

Em resumo, um ótimo estudo de personagens, mundo e sociedade atual, obrigatório para qualquer um!
