The plot structure was amazing, it has what the anime industry needs more of: a deep structure. If you like to immerse yourself in a deeper plot with a lot of hidden meanings and motifs with a huge and changing overall theme then this anime is for you. The religious allusions are well thought of with amazing delivery. Though not all will agree, I found that there was an amazing political statement that all war is bad and even pointless that is still preserved from the 1970's manga. The soundtrack is phenomenal, which is another thing anime in recent years have lacked in my opinion. It is fresh and not only synthesized orchestration, though there is a lot of the techno taste in it, it still has the feel of real musicians pouring emotion into the composition. I can't stop listening to it since I've finished watching it haha!

The animation is very good with typical flaws here and there. The style itself holds a lot of exaggerated movements and anatomy. I'm not typically one who likes the exaggerated style, but it somehow works and fits with this anime.

The characters are very lovable, however I was disappointed at the lack of character development they gave Ryo Asuka. It seems like Yuasa didn't focus much on capturing the beauty of Ryo's development from the manga, especially in the final scene.

There is a lot, I mean A LOT of sexual content to the point of me suggesting sensitive viewers to not even try to watch it. I think they went a little overboard on the sexual content in opinion. The story itself was written and even executed well enough that they really could have done less of the sex.

I give it an overall 8, I'd love to give a 9 or even a 10 because I enjoyed it so much, however the over exerted sexual content and lack of well execution of Ryo makes me have to drop it so much. There is a high chance I will be rewatching it again soon, which is saying a lot from me who typically doesn't like to rewatch shows at all.
