Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride
This one is a little tough for me, since the pacing of this show isn't consistent. The world is very interesting, and you learn about it gradually as Chise does. A lot of character designs are really nice, especially Elias. Their relationship, while a bit problematic, is explored in a way that perhaps highlights the problematic nature of it. Throughout the show I really the world and fantastical elements, but was not engaged fully to need to watch further. They tackle a lot of temporary issues throughout the show, so you get some small stories. These all lead to character development though, so it's not thatbad.
Usually with a show that doesn't engage me fully, I would give it a 6, but this one had a few moments that pushed it past the edge. The overall vibe, and the select strong and engaging moments moves this to a recommend for me.
