Review of Higurashi: When They Cry – Kai

If you come to Kai expecting a rerun of the first season of Higurashi you may not enjoy it. That said, if you come to Kai seeking answers and closure, accompanied by improved sound and animation then you're in luck. This second season of Higurashi takes a much more mature approach to its story and takes its time showing rather than telling. It also features by far my favorite character in the series, which I will not spoil for you. I gushed about the first season of Higurashi a lot and it's usually one of the first recommendations I give to friends that feel they may not likeanime. This second season is for those who have been through that first initial journey with the cast and want to experience Hinamizawa again and again with them as they try to put an end to their suffering.
