Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion
I truly did enjoy this show, being someone who is a huge fan anything that makes you truly think along with being a huge sucker for any classic animes/old animes. That being said I do still have some personal problems with the show. First off, in the middle of the show I lost interest a little bit. This could be because I have crippling ADHD and I also am not the hugest fan of action shows but it also could show that maybe if they would have condensed this a bit and maybe made it a bit shorter it would be a bit more enjoyable.I also think that the plot does get confusing at times especially during the end. Now I do think that this anime has an absolutely beautiful and complex story that should never be changed however I think during the second haft of the show it could have been executed a lot better and made so more people understood it.
This could just be a personal preference but the art style and the soundtrack for neon genesis Evangelion is perfection. I love the art style of any anime that has come out during this time period. The soundtrack however is completely unique and I think plenty of people can say that it is a masterpiece.
Overall I really enjoyed watching this show even though at time it was a tad bit boring and hard to watch. Not only did I love the story and characters but I love how this entire series portrays mental health and trauma in teenagers/young adults. Showing these characters weaknesses and past traumas along with showing how incredibly strong they are is a great thing and truly will comfort a lot of viewers including myself.
I recommend this show to anyone. Literally just anyone, this is truly a show everyone should watch at least once.
