Review of School Days

1/10 I knew this show was controversial coming in and I was prepared for it. Even still, it is one of the WORST things I have ever watched. Every moment of this show was a chore and actively offended me as a viewer. In the beginning, it's painfully boring and I had to fight off the urge to play something on my phone as i watched. I WISH it stayed that way. Every single character including the background characters devolves into the most unlikeable loser freaks you have ever seen in your LIFE. Each of them become unbearably naive, irrational for the plot, or downright evil.By the end, I was actively rooting for ANYTHING bad to happen to these characters. I felt bad for ONE background character we barely see and NEVER got justice or even screentime for her problem. People can claim realism all they want, NONE of this would fly in ANY school without the ENTIRE CAST becoming SHUNNED into switching schools or BULLIED OUT OF THE CITY. This is the ultimate ensemble of trashy characters doing trashy things for a trashy plot. You can't even get invested in the love story in the beginning because the main character has the emotional intelligence of a selfish pouty baby with the problems of a high schooler. Every line out of his mouth makes me want to THROTTLE him.
Unlikeable, annoying, insufferable, brainless, hateful, disgusting, trashy, loser, grimy, repulsive, idiot scumbag freaks.

The art is whatever. It is only kind of unpleasant.

If you like the characters and are mid season, DROP THIS SHOW. I won't delve into specifics, but trust me or you will hate this show anyway. If you don't end up hate watching, it is not worth a single SECOND of your time. Unless you want to be mad or have fun laughing at terrible shows, I suggest you BOOK IT away from this MAL page NOW. And slam the damn door on the way out.
