Review of Detroit Metal City
It's as if the MC was a slice of life character by day, and some crazy gore mf by night. The character design follows suit, calm and rational everyday characters have normal clothing, acting.... well, normal. Meanwhile, the metal heads have face paint, face masks and demonic attire, acting insane and screaming the r word like there is no tomorrow. All of the episodes last around 12 minutes, and there isn't really a particular main story going on, each episode features a different set of events. So it's a really easy to digest, and it really compliments the gag humor, everything is nice and quick, not dragged out. And justto be clear with the gag humor, it doesn't hold back, and it's really good.
In terms of art, it's really good, the details on the MC's outfit are amazing, every aspect has been paid close attention to, whether it be the long black nails, sharp fangs or even the white fancy collars around the hands, all the details perfectly capture the demonic metal feel.
In terms of music, there aren't really any specific parts where it's JUST music, it's always accompanied by gag humor, so it's more or less just a sub-genre.
The opening song is pretty good though, it's pretty rad, I would prob. find myself listening to it.
Both opening and ending songs follow suit the whole slice of life by day and crazy metal stuff by night, cause the opening song is metal song and ending is... something soft, no clue about the genre.
Overall, great show, don't really have anything negative to say about it.
