Review of Dr. Stone: New World
I'm a little disappointed that New World was not longer than 11 episodes but I understand why it is because the next section of story flows together so tightly it won't surprise me if the next installment of the anime might just go to the end of the manga. New World served as a bridge between what's come before and what's still to happen. It's a transitional period for the characters as they branch out away from places the first two seasons covered and off to what lies beyond. We get some new characters and retain a lot of the humor of the first twoseasons. However, it feels unfinished at the end like we're missing a second cour for a complete thought.
That said, the characters are still easy to root for, Senkuu is still acting like some sort of 1950's adventure movie explorer/carpetbagger and it's fun to watch how he comes up with creative ways to bring both the good and bad of the modern era into the stone age future. However, some parts are a little slow and occasionally it feels like the story isn't moving forward, but it gets back on track quickly.
I'm looking forward to October when we'll see our friends again
