This anime main story is about the so called dark side of the entertainment industry. The anime explore the real bitter truth that hides behind the curtain of every media. From their celebrities private life, the countless lie this media tell you, and of course the people that control it too. We are not only talking about idol life in Japan, but also being a YouTuber or influencer. Even at one point I am surprised that they just casually mention real social media name like Twitter and Tik Tok. But I'm pretty sure its allowed because this anime didn't got any problem. Its scarily accuratehow they can make every comment there mimic the real life. Its like me myself actually scrolling throught it on the original site.

At this point we all already know that internet is the best and the worst place to ever exist. Its really depends on which side of internet are you. Filled with pointless debate or opinion. And this anime focus on the hate comment part. Internet give us an anonymous identity so we are not so much responsible for our action, that's only one of the problem this anime explore. They forgot, or maybe not, that there is a real human being on the other side of that account. That human being also have feeling just like us. Cyber bullying is the upgraded worst version of bullying, since you don't know who is the one bullying you.

Love Live is an anime about idol too, I'm a big fan of idol thanks to them. So that's why as a fan of idol anime, I give this one a watch. At first i thought its gonna be exploring the same topic about hard working, never give up, and another inspiring stuff like that so you want to become an idol. This anime is the opposite. If anything, this anime is like the Madoka Magica of idol genre. Dark depressing story, still about idol that other anime haven't really explore yet. So yeah I give them a thumb up on this. Even though most of the thing they reveal is already a common knowledge for me as a Japanese idol fan.

Meanwhile the side story is kinda flop. The thing that got me hooked into watching this is because the idol part. And right at the early episode, the anime turn into crime genre. Not gonna lie I almost drop the anime. But i never drop anime, and the time I invested totally worth it on the later episode. It is very understandable if you didn't like the beginning of this anime. Because its just came out of nowhere. I mean its not that boring, I just didn't like how its just there to drive the plot. Beside from that, every other sub genre is doing great, like the romance and the comedy.

Animation is really really beautiful here. Even to the point when i watch other anime, i feel like that anime is not animated well. Everyone drawn greatly by the studio. The facial expression, the eyes, the hair. Oh yeah the uniform too. I always love when anime introduce a new school uniform, make me wish i can wear them in real life.

There is less song than the typical idol anime, it only have like two insert song. So yeah, don't expect any song focused scene. But I still enjoy it nonetheless. OP and ED song is definitely a banger because Yoasobi makes it, i never skip it. Although that make this anime really overated. Adapted from a famous mangaka, have famous band performing, famous seiyuu. I'm actually got worried when this was the top rated anime on MAL because you know what happen. And also because of this, its almost impossible for the community to be civilize.

Characters personality in this anime are scarily accurate to mirror a real person in real life. What i mean is that they didn't act like anime character who usually makes squeaking noises or overeacting. Except when they need it for comedy purpose. A lot of scene is like a reality check up, makes me realize that all this thing is not only happen in fiction. The seiyuu doing a great job bringing the characters comes to life using their voice. And to mention a fact that the 2 MC in this anime is voiced by a new seiyuu. Its a hard job to do you know, all the expectation and things.

My love for this anime goes up and down throughout the span of this season. Sometimes the episode is just so dumb i don't have any enjoyment again to watch the whole series. And other times, they drop the best episode makes me crave more. So, should you watch this anime? If you want a packed to the brim anime story that keep you busy, then yes. Keep in mind there's so little gap between the story for you to breathe. Its up to you to decide if its a good thing or no.
