Review of Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX

Great vibes, incredible animation, shallow story, shallow characters. I really want to be crazy about this show, but I can't. The combination of the atmosphere of the show and the absurd animation make for an incredible base to an anime whose story and characters don't live up to it. A lot of themes are put on the table just to be brushed off constantly with no further development or conversation between characters. Talking about the latter(s), I've connected with none (disclaimer: Machu is goated). There is a constant lack of deepness to everything regarding plot that makes you go "oh, ok" every time something importanthappens, which is far from what I want a show to make me feel.

And this is not taking into account I haven't watched any other Gundam so I'm absolutely clueless about the series. However, I didn't really mind that. Why? Because there's one thing Gquuuuuux does right, and that is vibes.

I found myself not caring that much about the shallowness of the show or the lack of context (by my part) thanks to the fact that I was, well, vibing the entire duration of the show. The music, the sfx, the art style, the vivid colors; they all make up for an incredible visual and auditory experience.

Overall, it's a good experience dragged down by the fact that in complete honesty I didn't care in the least what happened to anyone on the show (disclaimer: Machu is goated). Still, 100% worth watching if just by the vibes alones. Probably a great 1-afternoon binge.
