Review of Blue Period
You ever watch a show, or listen to a song, or even see a photo that afterwards has you questioning your life choices? Makes you reflect on yourself? This may not apply to anyone else, but thats what this show did for me. I won't tell you the art is good or the sound design or character designs are good because I can't tell that stuff. But I can say the characters are believable and the story writing is really well done. I havn't watched many shows where I feel like I've been on this journey of self discovery alongside the characters themselves. By episode6 I felt like I had spent a year with our main character.
The show also tackles some darker subject matter, nothing shocking but stuff that isnt usually covered in anime that I've seen, and when it is it's usually tacked on or used for some way to force character development. But in Blue period I think it was tackled realistically and maturely.
I really enjoyed my time with this show, and I'm mostly using this review to jot down everything thats been on my mind since I finished it. I hope others who watch this come out with similar experiences, but I can understand if some part of the show that I didnt have a problem with turns someone off.
